 Cyprus food
Dear members... how many of these foods can you familiarise with? Anyone know the origin of these foods:
Sheftalia - Cyprus sausages
Souvla - Cyprus bbq
Yemista - Stuffed vegetables
Koupepia - Stuffed vine leaves
Kleftiko - Baked goat
What similarities are there between traditional GC and traditional TC or Turkish dishes?
feel free to keep adding to the list!

The TC have all of those foods traditionally but we must remember our most famous food 'Hellim' or 'Halloumi' which we eat cooked, in sandwich, BBQ...Hmmmmmmmmm etc.
Then there is our winter soup called tarhana (sorry can't remember the GC name) but it has halloumi in it.

You hit that nail square on the head, very much agreed.
Lets go back to things we like, how about homous, now that is always on our cypriot tables and lets not forget the world wide famous olive oil and olives.
