Keen to get some discussion around the Lebanon / Israel war.

Some questions i have:

Why is Cyprus bound to accepting Lebanese refugees?
Where are the US troops (25,000 of them) based in Cyprus?
Why are neighbouring countries not being of assistance to these people?

yes, here we have another example of Cyprus being a victim due to their geographic position in the cross roads of three major continents.

The island has enough to worry about without these further interuptions. A staggering 25,000 US troops is certianly a threat to the island and this is on top of 40,000 plus illegally stationed Turkish Troops.

There is certianly a danger and threat to the people of Cyprus.

We are being put in this is position due to the geographic position and the highly militarised nature of the island.
Foriegn military forces like the UK and the US feel they have the right to use the island as a military base as they feel the need . ..

You raise a good question . . Why dont other countries stick their neck out and HELP??

In regard to the refugees. . .Yes you are correct - there are a high amount of Leb refugees accepted in Cyprus over any other country . . There is also a huge number of political assylum refugees from other countries as well . .

These events certainly take alot of focus away from the Cyprus problem !
