Ageing parents and supportive families filled churches across Cyprus and then attended military memorial services, saying there prayers and remembering our heroes of 1974 as there names were called and and gun shots were fired into the sky . . Reefs were laid by the families and speeches were said . .

It is a painful day that we Cypriots go through every year . . at the same time of the year there are freak like carnival celebrations happening in the North . .
