Hi All

Here are some photos of the militarised green line running through Nicosia . .The only divided capital in the world.

This is in Old Nicosia (in the centre) where Lidras Palace is.

It is sad to see the old part of Nicosia remain undeveloped and deteriorating as a result of the 1974 invasion.

I believe that their is a redevelopment plan of old Nicosia but there is no evidence of this to be seen

more great pics... you took a bit of a risk if you took these photos yourself.

i was under the impression that no photos could be taken of the green line or any areas close to it.... well done.

just reminds us all of what Nicosia could and should have been like if the invasion had no happened. one thing is for sure, we wouldn't be seeing pictures like that!

Sorry people but your biased and racist teachings do you very little service and trying to rewrite history will NOT work.

Nicosia/Lefkosa was NOT divided in 1974 during the intervention/invasion as suggested above but in 1963 after the communial clash's that happened and the now solely GC controlled goverment had walls erected to divide the capital and at the same time forced the TC community from there homes into 3% of the island to live in ghetto's without work, housing or access to medical requirements which lasted till 1974, 11 long years and salvation only came after the intervention.


Guys you need to really learn the truth's instead of constantly spitting out biased and racist teachings of the extremists that is in most parts false or inaccurate.
