This is a very up to date and relevant article that provides good reading and discussion.

Union with Greece and EOKA : ENOSIS
Hi There NZCypriot
I have had a glance over the link you provided and I must emphasis that EOKA was a military resistance movement NOT a terrorist movement as Turkey would like it portrayed.
It was a geniune movement in the debate over to unite Cyprus with Greece or not and to have a republic of Cyprus.
EOKA is a strong part of Cypriot culture and history!

EOKA is nothing more than a Terrorist group. They were founded for Enosis and to get rid of both Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots who did not agree with their warped philosophy. This talk about EOKA being founded only to expell the British is a load of crap. If you claim that EOKA is a big part of Cypriot culture then your culture is of a terrorist culture. I know a few GCs that would beg to differ with your view point.

i do not agree with your arguments of EOKA being terrorist.
i would like to hear your justification for such a harsh comment.

Are you at all familiar with history? I am not here to give you a history lesson especially where the EOKA are concerned. Their actions speak volumes. You seem to be a typical GC that wants to blame the entire tragedy on Turks. Go read up some balanced sources and get back to me.

 EOKA NOT to Blame
Hi Xenos
EOKA included civil wars within Cyprus over Enosis with Greece. Some Cypriots were for it and others were NOT.
Turkey decieptfully invaded with the cover up that they were protecting the Turkish people (a very small minority) on the island during the civil wars of EOKA.
The illegal invasion and occupation 31 years later is clear evidence that Turkey illegally invaded and has illegally occupied the northern area for 31 years! Why??????????
Best

EOKA was arecognised as a terrorist organisation by the international community and used fear and terror to control the people to get its own desires and that is ENOSIS with Greece, in that time they killed anyone that did not agree with them and have many murders to account for.

i hear lots of Greek Cypriots are agaisnt EOKA they blame EOKA for turkey invading but lets so for example EOKA had suceeded and Cyprus managed to have a union with Greece what would greek Cypriots think? i mean when EOKA kicked the british out of Cyprus in 1960 they where seen as heros in my apinion i wish EOKA had suceeded and Cyprus did have union with Greece rather then North Cyprus be occupied by Turkey what does everyone else think?

I think the Turkish Cypriots would have never agreed to it and what a shame and contradiction that EOKA was formed to supposidly get independence but was really trying to get the British colonial forces off the island to only bring the Greek colonial masters in instead, maybe we need to be Cypriots first and anything else last.
