Does this flag represent the Cyprus flag of the future?
Any discussion about this flag, the current ROC flag or the TRNC flag welcome!
Regards,

The Proposed Annan Flag is extremely dissapointing. It looks like something that a 5 year old has been asked to do. We all going on about Cyprus being Cyprus but the BLUE from Greece and the Red from Turkey has been used and the yellow, well whats that? Is that Cyprus? This is a joke. Infact it is a disgrace!
Atleast the current flag is nuetral and has the olive leaves for peace and the shape of the island for Cyprus

Now let me break the problem down realistically.
The above Annan flag is HORRID at best and i would never want that to represent us cypriots.
The TRNC flag does not represent the GC and is also a similar flag of Turkey hence in a United Cyprus this will not do.
The ROC flag as it is i do like and also take pride in the fact that a TC designed it BUT the realities is most TC will NEVER accept it as their flag in a United Cyprus as it has for 30+ years in the eyes of nearly all TC only represented the GC community hence i doubt this will be accepted either.
This leaves one alternative and that is for US cypriots to design our new flag wether that be through a competition or ...?????

TC designed the Cyprus flag? ha?
Quote:The winning design was based on a proposal by a İsmet Güney, a Turkish Cypriot school teacher. The design was chosen by Makarios III, the President of the Republic, with the consent of Fazil Küçük, the Vice-President.

Well, well done to the Turkish Cypriot İsmet Güney who designed the Cyprus Flag that got accepted by Makarios III as the official Cyprus flag. Where is the pride of TC's to keep this flag and to be proud of it.

Unfortunately because of the past history and the partition of the last 30+ years the TC have unfortunately disassociated from it and with the introduction of the TRNC flag now associate with that.
Does nobody have any designs of a possible United Cyprus flag that would represent all the cypriots, people do take a shot at this as we have nothing to lose and everything to gain, maybe we could improve the current one or a totally new design.

maybe we could create a separate forum for possible designs of a united Cyprus flag of tomorrow?
users can upload files for all to view on their posts.
brother, you may want to facilitate this?

I think we should keep it in this thread so we have just the one thread with all to do with our flag and maybe slightly modify the title, i hope you will agree.
